Step into the pages of a timeless romance with Enchantment by Sweetfire Road designed by Jackie MacDonald, a collection inspired by the elegance of classic regency novels.
I design with a story in mind so that my collection is cohesive. In my mind as I drew Enchantment, I dreamed up the story of a young lady in love ... who keeps to herself and dares not share the true feelings of her heart. So, she gardens with meaning... planting as a way of expressing her passion for a secret love. I drew delicate paper Valentine's and love letters, carefully decorating them and cutting them into intricate shapes. Paper butterflies came to life, I created oversized, abundant bouquets... all with meaning behind each stem. Queen Anne for home and sanctuary, Foxgloves for wishes, Roses as messengers of love and Rosemary for remembrance. I had a wonderful time "gardening" with these beautiful, intentional flowers. I have always wanted to draw dreamy birds delivering secret messages of love... and I was finally able to bring this vision to life for Enchantment, too. I love these messengers of love... wouldn't it be fun to get a note this way rather than receive an email? lol... xo - Jackie
